Phlox is in full bloom in our front yard.
Shot this phlox bloom late this afternoon on a hot muggy summer day.

  1. This is what you call razor thin depth of field :) I would not have thought that a photo of a flower done this way could look good. I am glad I was wrong. This is just a delightful splash of beautiful colour composed so that the colour would take precedence, but not overwhelm the composition. Nicely done.

  2. Less is more! Beautiful! You are lucky to have wonderful flowers in your yard to photograph. This is superb! Love the curl of the petal in focus and drawing the eye in like magic.

  3. Beautiful colors Sasi! The pink against the green stands out nicely and I really like the shallow depth of field. My favorite part is the upturned petal on the right that shows a little bit of the white veined underside. It’s like the flower is giving us a little peek of another personality on the bottom side!

  4. Nice Sasi, love that the shallow DOF makes the image more about the colors than the subject itself.

  5. Wow, the pink is amazing. Also the sharpness up front, transitioning to the subtle blur in the back. Beautiful.

  6. Wow! This is very pink! Love the contrasting colors.

  7. delicate inspiration
