What’s on TV?

That’s my son enjoying his favorite show on PBS. I didn’t use flash for this shot (as I didn’t want to lose the moment) so had to bump up the ISO and ended up with a grainy portrait. But I’m overall satisfied with the outcome.

  1. I have to say that I like a little grain in B&W portraits. Love the shallow depth of field. Nice composition!

  2. I would be happy with this one too, even with the bit of grain. It’s a priceless shot, if you ask me.

  3. You captured his engrossment perfectly. And as for the grain I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again a little grain looks good (to me) in a photo. Gives it a nice look in my view. Nicely done.

  4. I like it. I like the shadow on his cheek… his eyelashes?? cute boy.

  5. What a cutie! I agree that grain on black and white photos is nice!

  6. I think you caught the moment perfectly! What show is he watching? Like everyone else said, the grain works rather well.

  7. The grain works perfectly with the B&W Sasi, awesome capture!

  8. First of all he’s adorable!
What a great portrait – you caught him in a natural pose and he didn’t even know you were there.
The grain works perfect especially for the black and white image. Great shot.

  9. Nice shot, the grain actually adds the the image, especially as you did a BW rendering.
