Shot these icicles on a tree in our front yard last night under street lighting. I had to bump up the ISO to 800 to achieve the bokeh.

It was real chilly last night (in sub zero) and I bet my neighbors were to think I am one crazy guy if they had spotted me in my front yard on a cold night ;)

  1. Very pretty bokeh! Great photo! I also really like the rich tone.

  2. This is nice… you’re right… the best part about the ice storm is the pictures! I was out snapping some today–we even had a bit of blue sky.

  3. Your photo is really neat looking, love the bokeh. It’s interesting to see the things photographers do to get a must have shot. Good for you.

  4. really a brilliant presentation, wonderful

  5. I’ve nothing to say to this one other than brilliant shot, beautifully processed.

  6. Nice bokeh. You made the scene look warm even if it was sub-zero. :)

  7. What a great way to take the chilly-factor out of the image! It’s got a nice, warm feel.

As for the neighbors thinking you’re crazy (if they’d seen you), isn’t that part of the fun of being a photographer? I love when people look at me funny when I’m sitting on the ground, or leaning over something, or standing on something trying to get a shot.

  8. I like this silhouetted shot, and love the bokeh you got!

  9. Love it! This is my kind of shot!

  10. love this shot. Simple yet wonderful
