Todays daily shoot assignment: Make a photograph of something metallic today. Put the emphasis on texture and light.

Metallic…How about faucet? Turns out these faucets are non-metallic – I figured out after shooting this for TDS assignment. But decided to go with this shot ;)

I wasn’t really planning on a self-portrait – hence, want to stay away from this shinny faucet so that I don’t end up shooting a reflection of me and ending up with a selfi.

Had this shot with Sigma 150mm and used circular polarizer filter to eliminate glare.

Those smudges underneath the faucet – blame it on me…I did a poor job of fixing/plumbing this faucet ;)

  1. I love how shiny it is!! What a nice, crisp shot.

  2. I like the soft color.

  3. Great photo, good concept well executed. Although I think you chose to set it up this way I would have preferred an all whit background by using maybe some whit card to block out any distracting elements.

  4. Pretty! Great shine.

  5. Superb! I love it, excellent photograph!

  6. Great image. Great post processing. There are other elements coming in on the shot by my opinion is that is works. It adds to the “feel” of the image. I also really like that little “wheat” looking pattern at the tip of the faucet. Nice job.

  7. I like the processing more than anything else. The nice warm, chocolaty tones are the perfect note for the image. Might have been interesting to try it the other way as well, a harsh, cold tone. Sort of a counterpoint to the image.

  8. Very nice Sasi. I like the lighting here.

  9. good job staying out of the picture and I really like the tonal range, it really shows of the chrome

  10. Love the clarity here! Well done.

  11. I love this! The monochrome works perfectly, and it’s a great response to the assignment!
