Today’s daily shoot assignment: Who are you? Make a self portrait today and show the rest of us what you look like.

I didn’t see this coming from Daily Shoot…with self-portrait theme. I was debating myself if I should do self-portrait or something else. But in the end decided to go with the assignment. I think it’s always good to know the face behind the camera ;)

With my star helpers (read that as family) still vacationing, it was a bit of challenge setting this up. Used a stuffed doll to set the pre-focus, then used timer for this self-portrait shot. Last weeks ‘differential in light” assignment definitely helped me today for this shot.

I used my classic N6006 camera for this pose.

  1. LOL…I guess all those other self portraits were just practice. Nice work here.

  2. Kudos to you Sasi, I have yet to get brave enough for a self-portrait.

    I like it, nice job.

  3. HaHa. I thought about you when I read the Daily Shoot post was a self-portrait. Wondered if you’d do it. You did a nice job. I never have help in my selfies. I just guess the distance and focus for that.

  4. this is wonderful! love the lighting!!!

  5. Great job! It’s nice to see you!

  6. including the camera in the sp does really show who you are – or at least one aspect of you. I think that would have cloned out the catch light in the near eye – not enough detail for it to be interesting.

  7. This is a very nice self-portrait. Very creative lighting to show only a small part of your face… by the way, what long eye lashes you have…

  8. I really like the silhoutte! The light gives just enough detail.

  9. Great lighting! Love the contrast. I thought of you when I saw this challenge too because of your previous self-portraits and the fact that you “thought” you were done with self portraits. I really like your self portraits. Nice job.
